A Prayer for Presence in Today's Gifts
Lord, help me fall in love with today
Help me love it like you do
So much that I’m not thinking about tomorrow
That I stop to notice the color in my children’s eyes
To notice the size of their sweet hands and how much they have grown already
Help me see the beauty of the season that you have us in, instead of longing for another.
Heal the desire to be someplace or time that is not today
Help me see that there is no place better
Help me love being present more than I love a clean sink or folded laundry
Show me the importance of letting to do lists rest, while I sit with playing little ones.
Remind me of your faithfulness in yesterday, so that I may rest in today
And laugh at the day to come.
