I was a Lip Smacker girl.

As a tween, my friend and I used to save our money and then head to Walmart to get the newest pack of Lip Smacker flavors. We would fill our pencil pouches at school with our current favorites along with our cutesy erasers and other fun items.

To be honest there was no way we’d EVER finish all the chap sticks that we were collecting, but there was something fun about having a bag with things stashed just for me.

As a teenager, my mom encouraged this idea and said I should always carry a little pouch with all the things I should ever need. Medicines, snacks, feminine products.

When packing a diaper bag, you are thinking of every possible thing that this other human might need. So much so, that you often forget yourself, until you reaaalllly could use some tylenol while stuck in traffic with a screaming baby.

One experience like this made me vow to never be unprepared for myself ever again.

So I packed myself a little pouch with all the items I may ever need and put it in my diaper bag, just like my mom had tried to tell me years earlier.

It’s the perfect size to pop in and out of a diaper bag, while fitting everything you could ever need.

It my own I have the following:
Hand sanitizer

Advil

Granola bars

Bandaids

Electrolyte pouches

Gum

Tide-to-go

Pens

There are so many other things you could add of course.

My MIL and I were planning my SIL’s baby shower, and all the talk about baby got me thinking that I wanted to get something for my sister!

Sometimes it’s nice to add something a little thoughtful for the mom-to-be.

After some thinking I thought that replicating my “mom pouch,” would be a sweet way to provide some fun things for my sister in law.

I found a super fun pouch on amazon that was so easy to personalize.

I then went to Target to get the fun items for inside.

This could even be something that you drop off when the mom is freshly post-partum. It’s a time when she is already overwhelmed and learning how to pack a diaper bag in the midst of all the craziness. Sometimes it’s sweet to know that while you are trying to care for your little one, someone has done the work in taking care of you.
